Private Investigators & Continuing Education

How does a Private Investigator in Greeley Colorado keep up to date with what is going on throughout Colorado and the World in the ever expanding industry of Private Investigations? This is a question that many PI’s ask them self, whether they work in Weld County, Denver, or anywhere in Colorado or the world for that matter. A good place to start is with a local, regional or state PI affiliation group.

I am a senior member of the PPIAC (Professional Private Investigators Association of Colorado) I am also honored to sit on the Board of Directors for the PPIAC and I am the current Treasurer for the organization. The PPIAC, like may affiliate groups for investigators and detectives, has regular monthly meetings. Each of these meetings has a guest speaker on a specific topic of interest to the PI world. The PPIAC also conducts several 1-2 day long training events a year and has a 2-3 day annual conference with several training opportunities throughout the conference every year.

As I was sitting the other day wondering how many training events I have covered I decided to go back and investigate my own records and review the past 2 years of my continuing education. I was pleasantly surprised to see all of the private investigator training I have accumulated. This also confirmed why I feel I am so much stronger today in my profession as a private detective than I was a few years ago.

With this newly discovered information I thought I would share this with you over the next few weeks, exploring each of the training sessions I have completed. Our next post will be on Social Networking and Technology as used in the Private Investigation world. Below is a list of just some of the many training sessions I have attended that we will discuss in future posts.

– Mitigation Investigations
– Employment Background Investigations
– Financial Exploitation of the Elderly
– Difficult Process Serves
– When Databases aren’t enough
– Forensic Photography
– Accident investigations
– Service of Process
