 Former Police Office turned PI indicted for sexual imposition

A former police officer and current owner of a private investigation business was indicted Wednesday by a Lucas County grand jury for gross sexual imposition.

Authorities believe Timothy Villa, Sr., 67, of 6960 Kinsman Drive, Sylvania, engaged in sexual contact with a female employee June 16 at his business, Data Research Inc.

Jeff Lingo, chief of the criminal division for the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office, said the incident was investigated by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation because it occurred at Mr. Villa’s business, 5650 W. Central Ave. in Sylvania Township.

Politics, Missing Cash, Fired Employee and a Private Investigator!

Alvin Bordelon, an attorney who represents the Kenner administration at Civil Service hearings, interrupted one such proceeding on Tuesday night. “Let’s just get it all out on the table,” said a flustered Bordelon, turning to the fired employee in the case. “You’re trying to make this a political circus.”

His comment came during an almost four-hour hearing that saw a long-running feud between Mayor Mike Yenni and his political opponents play out under bright lights. The case touches on one employee’s potential status as a whistleblower, the administration’s decision to hire private investigators to follow employees, missing cash in a department under the watch of a employee who failed to report her felony conviction when she was hired and turnover in the same department, Inspection and Code Enforcement, which saw three directors over a four-month period.
